Using Voiceboard in Claude

The Voiceboard connector lets you create an Experience Survey directly from Claude. Describe what you want to learn and Voiceboard builds a structured, ready-to-edit survey draft, then returns a secure link you open to review, refine, and publish in your Voiceboard workspace. Nothing is created or sent to respondents until you review and save it in Voiceboard.

What the connector does

The connector exposes a single tool, start_experience_survey. When you ask Claude to start a survey, it passes the details you provide — a title, your goals, and the themes to cover — to Voiceboard. Voiceboard returns a link to a prefilled survey draft. It is a create-only action: it never deletes anything, and it only ever produces a draft for you to review.

Before you start

• A Voiceboard account. You can create one at app.voiceboard.ai.
• Your Voiceboard workspace must have Experience Surveys enabled. If you don't see Experience Surveys in your workspace, email support@voiceboard.ai to have it turned on.
• A Claude account on a plan that supports adding a custom connector.

Add the connector in Claude

1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
2. Give it a name (for example, Voiceboard) and enter the remote MCP server URL:

3. Leave the Client ID and Client Secret fields blank — the connector registers automatically using OAuth dynamic client registration.
4. Save the connector.

The first time you use the connector, Claude will prompt you to connect your account. Sign in to Voiceboard and approve access. You only do this once; after that, Claude can use the tool directly.

Use it

Ask Claude to start a survey in plain language. For example:

• "Start an experience survey about onboarding for new engineers. Goals: measure clarity of expectations and quality of mentorship. Themes: first-week setup, mentorship, tooling."
• "Create an experience survey to evaluate our customer support, with goals around responsiveness and resolution quality, about 6 minutes."
• "Set up a patient experience survey covering communication, wait times, and overall satisfaction."

Claude returns a link. Open it, and Voiceboard loads your survey with the title, goals, and themes prefilled. Review and edit it, then Preview the Survey and Distribute it from your Voiceboard workspace — including making it voice-capable if you choose.

What data is shared

The connector sends Voiceboard only the survey details you include in your request — the title, goals, themes, and optional estimated length — together with your Voiceboard user identity (provided through the OAuth sign-in). It does not read your Claude conversation history, memory, or uploaded files beyond what you put in the request. The link we generate and its prefilled details are stored for up to 7 days and then automatically deleted. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Troubleshooting

• "Authentication required" when you run the tool — click Connect and sign in to Voiceboard. Authentication happens on first use rather than when you add the connector, so this is expected.
• The survey link opens but Experience Surveys aren't available — your workspace doesn't have Experience Surveys enabled. Email support@voiceboard.ai.
• The connector seems stuck connecting — confirm the URL is exactly https://app.voiceboard.ai/mcp/sse (including the /sse path).
